PIERCING AFTERCARE

Contact me at the studio for your FREE piercing aftercare brochure. I will provide you with the best aftercare information possible in an easy to follow brochure. All guidelines are a combination of professional experience, common sense, research, and extensive clinical practice.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR NEW TATTOO

1: Remove the dressing 3 hours after having your new tattoo.

2: Wash the tattoo carefully with warm soapy water and rinse, pat dry with a soft towel. Do not apply any aftercare cream at this time.

3: Repeat step 2 again before you go to bed that night, and again the following morning. This is the last time you should wash your tattoo or get it wet until the healing process is complete. Still do not apply any aftercare cream at this time.

4: Leave the tattoo for 24 hours after the last wash in the morning. It should become dry and crusty, then start to apply a VERY THIN COAT of recommended cream Once daily (Bepanthen or e45 moisturizing cream, both Available at Boots chemists or all other large supermarkets). If clothing sticks you have applied to much cream, Dab dry.

5: Applying a thin coat of cream daily will make the tattoo heal up within 14-21 days. APPLYING TO MUCH CREAM WILL LEAD TO COLOUR LOSS & POOR HEALING.

6: Ensure you keep your tattoo away from grease and dirt at all times to stop infection.

7: DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH YOUR TATTOO WHEN HEALING, AS THIS LEADS TO COLOR LOSS AND INFECTION.

8: No sunbathing, Swimming or Saunas until tattoo is fully healed.

9: Put sun block over your new tattoo after it has healed (not before) if going out in the sun or going on sun beds.

10: Any problems phone me at the studio, do not listen to your mate in the pub. If your tattoo has healed poorly and gaps in the colour have appeared, you did not look after your tattoo correctly, you will be charged a touch up fee. Remember your dog licks its own balls, do not let it lick your new tattoo….
